We appreciate your interest in the University of Arkansas, School of Social Work. Our baccalaureate social work program (BSW) was created in 1940 making it one of the oldest social work programs in the country. Our MSW program (2-years, full-time) admitted its first group of students in Fall 2003. In summer 2007, we initiated an Advanced Standing (12-months, full-time) MSW program for eligible BSW graduates from a CSWE-accredited social work program. Both programs are fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
Applying to the MSW program is a two-fold process. First, you must apply to the Graduate School and be accepted as a graduate student by the University. For Graduate School application materials please go to the website at http://www.uark.edu/depts/gradinfo/. Second, you must apply to the MSW program and be accepted by the School of Social Work Admissions Committee. You may proceed with both of these applications at the same time. Once accepted to both the Graduate School and the School of Social Work MSW program, you will be considered a graduate student at the University and in the School of Social Work.
Included with this letter are copies of the application materials for the MSW program. Please complete them and return them to Attn: MSW Admissions, School of Social Work, University of Arkansas, ASUP 106, Fayetteville, AR 72701. Completed applications received by February 15 will receive priority consideration.
