Field Program
The Field Education Program affords students the opportunity to integrate theoretical classroom knowledge, social work values and skills with actual work experiences in agency settings while under the supervision of a licensed social worker. The Field Education Program is committed to providing students with the opportunity to demonstrate social work skills, knowledge, and values that are consistent with the mission, goals and objectives of the School of Social Work through professional experience in internship. Over two semesters, BSW students complete 440 hours of internship. MSW students enrolled in the traditional two-year or extended three year program are required to complete 990 hours of internship over three semesters. MSW students in the on campus or online Advanced Standing program are required to complete 660 hours of internship over two semesters. Online students will be assigned to an internship close to home.
