Eligibility for the BSW Program's Professional Practice Core
To be eligible to enter the BSW Program’s Professional Practice Core (Research and Technology I, Human Behavior and the Social Environment II, Social Work Practice I, II, and III; Field Internship I and II; Field Seminar I and II) each student must complete the application process outlined below.

Deadlines:
- Applications to the core for the Fall semester are due the second Friday in October.
- Applications to the core for the Spring semester are due the second Friday in March.
Late submissions will not be considered.
Students typically apply to the BSW Professional Core Program the semester prior to planning to start the Professional Core courses, often while enrolled in SCWK 40903 HBSE I and SCWK 41503 Social Welfare Policy.

Required Documents/Forms
- BSW Core Application Form (Signed by Academic Advisor)
- Personal Statement
- Ethical Principals/Guidelines for Social Work Students (Signed by Applicant)
- Volunteer/Work Experience Form
- This form documents satisfactory completion of a minimum of 30 hours of relevant work or volunteer experience. All applicants are required to complete prior to admission to the BSW Professional Core (Form provided above).
- Copy of Unofficial Transcript
NOTE: All of the above forms should be submitted to the BSW Professional Core Application Form electronically via the link above.
- Professional Habits Forms
- Students are required to request these forms from their SCWK 40903 HBSE I and SCWK 41503 Social Welfare Policy instructors via email.
- Instructors have access to this form and do not need students to provide links or information on accessing.
- Students that do not request the PHFs from the appropriate faculty in writing (by email) will not have a complete application packet and will not be considered for admissions.
- Standards for Social Work Education
- Students will also acknowledge that they have read and understand the Standards for Social Work Education.
